Cooper Tire Reviews
I could not be happier with the Discoverer HT that my dealer recommended. I cannot yet attest to the tread life, but the wet traction is as good or better than the Michelin LTX I previously had on my Jeep. I have only driven in snow once so far but was very impressed with the performance of the tire. I am a very aggressive driver and I would definitely recommend these tires to anyone looking for a sturdy tire that holds up during cornering and allows for excellent braking while providing a very quiet and extremely comfortable ride.
Great tires that really grip the road!
These tires are great in all types of weather. Have over 70,000 miles on them and will be replacing them next week with the same. They handle very good in snow, on wet roads, in tight and sweeping curves wet and dry, and in the desert. We couldn't have asked for a better tire. Keep up the great work Cooper!
Superior tire for all types of weather driving. Will put another set on next summer. Have over 60K miles on this set with at least 10 to 20K tread remaining. Extremely pleased with this tire and recommend to those of you who drive a SUV.
Have been driving on these tires for a few months with Excellent tread wear and handling during wet and dry road conditions. Excellent tire for the money.
I have never had a problem with these tires in the 6 years since I have bought them. I don't abuse my truck like I used to, so I can't speak to performance under high stress. The only thing that concerns me is that in that 6 years, I have only put 30K miles on them (I work near home) and they are showing significant dry rot...???
The tires make the car run smooth and quiet. For the price, you cannot find a better tire. My wife was even impressed with me. I highly recommend these tires.
This has been a great tire on our full size SUV! Great wear and great ride! We will definitely be buying these again!
Got these last week after putting on almost the same thing on a 2011 Highlander. Can't comment on snow traction, as this truck sits in a garage in Dec. Jan. Feb. and March. Happy, Happy, Happy.
The worst tire that I have ever purchased. Terrible wet traction.
Great set of tires
Nice tires, would buy them again.
Really good tire. Well worth the money.
I have had Cooper AT3's on last two F150's. Down sized to a Toyota 4Runner and did not need an A/T tire so I went with the H/T. They are only one year old and all four have cupped both inner & outer edges, gas mileage dropped by 2 MPG, the dealer/installer has had to re-balance them multiple times due to shaking at 65 + mph. Never once had any issues with the AT3's ever. These H/T's have changed my opinion of Cooper tires.
The Discoverer H/T tires I bought 10 months ago need to be replaced after 50 000 km's ( 31 068 miles) due to premature wear and cupping. The warranty is for 80 000 km's. Very disappointed with Cooper. The car I drive is a Nissan Rogue with regular maintenance. I would not recommend these tires.
I would never recommend these tire to anyone. The are so loud on even the best maintained highways. They also do not hold there tread well. Worst buy I ever made.
I sold tires for a number of years and currently work at a large national auto parts retailer. All that to say, I understand quality. I have about 15k on these tires on my 2011 Ranger. Some of the best tires I've ever put on a 2wd truck. I became a fan of Cooper's because I sold them and they were great for the price. I had michelin and Goodyear previously. I prefer the Cooper's. Quiet and confident handling. I have no fear in the rain. I have no idea on winter traction. I live in Texas.
I've only had these Cooper's 2 years. I'm an excellent driver and have properly maintained vehicle always. When i bought my truck in Nov 2008, they came w/ Goodyear's (i forget model sorry) that lasted me 6 years! I used my Goodyear's until they went bald but at least thru my usage they wore evenly. When it came time to replace them in July 2014, my family suggested Cooper tires as they said they were spose to be better then Goodyear. So i bought the Cooper 265/70R16 Discoverer H/T ones. Mine came w/ a 60k mi warranty on them. I've only had these tires for about 2 1/2yrs and as i said before w/ proper maintenance etc, the tires don't even have 30k mi on them and they are cupped. The treads have worn uneven. Another thing I want to mention, I was told they were GREAT snow tires. Imo they are not, b/c in 1-2 inches of snow, my back rear tire would spin at times and i was not on ice. They are also LOUD. I noticed that right when they got put on my truck. Yes, they were installed/aligned properly. i find these tires to be the worst i've ever owned. I have to replace them now and i'm hoping my warranty covers me. These tires were expensive when i bought them - $750 for 4. I am going back to my Goodyear tires. I was NOT happy w/ these at all.
We had ordered the tires never expecting we would get them on are first big blizzard. We have a 2008 Honda element 4WD our back tires were pretty shot but the front were not as bad. The drive to the store in Mentor Ohio was a little intimidating But I have to admit the ride home was totally uneventful Great traction, Great braking. We live in Euclid Ohio and it turned out we got 18 inches of snow it was a blizzard the whole way home so we got a great chance to test there abilities in the snow all I can say is 2 thumbs up!
I have these on my 07 Sport Trac. They were fine when I got the truck. They were put on new when I bought it from a dealer. About 5000 miles in they are horrible. Around 50 miles an hour you cannot hear yourself think, They absolutely scream. I have had loud tires but these are so bad I am having them changed with barely any wear on them. I can't even be heard talking on my Bluetooth they are so bad. Truck is in perfect alignment and they actually got worse with a rotation. I am assuming it is because 2 are now running in the opposite direction.
After driving from Kansas City to NM on the four new Cooper Discover H/T's I purchased in Kansas, the drivers front tire now has two big bulges on the side. Below one of the bulges, the tire is beginning to pull out from the rim. Since there was no tire "failure"...no Warranty. I'm now having to purchase another tire out of pocket. These tires have 1026 miles on therm. No problem as of yet, with the other three tires. It's the warranty or lack of that concerns me.
I do mostly road driving dirt road and high ways and stop and go. It snows and a lot of ice in winter, these tires are silent and so smooth riding. Winter is good traction in wet snow and decent traction on ice. Summer in dry is good traction and wet is good also mud traction was exceptional too!
I've been running Cooper Discoverer H/T's on my GMC Sierra 1500 for about 15 years now, and I've always been satisfied. Usually get 50,000+ miles per set. Will be installing a new set next month after 55,000 miles on the present tires.
